Unlike Any My Eyes Have Ever Seen
A 100-word story
He sat down next to her on the smooth, flat boulder. As they had done a thousand times before, they stared out at the sun, setting into the ocean. Yet, this evening was different.
There, past the crashing waves, a caravel drifted in the sea. Gulls flew over and around its masts and rigging.
“What is it, father?” She asked.
“A boat. But unlike any my eyes have ever seen,” he replied.
“And what people could build such a boat?”
“If it is people who built such a thing, surely they are wise. Let us hope they are good, too.”
